About Jovan Zatezalo
Engineer by training, operator by necessity. I build revenue systems for companies that are tired of guessing.
My story
I started out building full-stack products from scratch, then moved into infrastructure: real-time data, cloud operations, the systems underneath other systems. At AltLabs I worked on Filecoin storage tooling. At Clockwork I built blockchain analytics pipelines and off-chain event processing. Today I'm at Microsoft, maintaining a core Azure service, leading my team's security efforts, and building the monitoring that keeps it all observable.
Alongside that, I kept launching things of my own. Products, storefronts, content sites. That's where I found out that engineering skill alone doesn't produce revenue, and that the gap between a working product and a working business is almost entirely distribution. So I went and learned it (ads, SEO, funnels, analytics, offer design) with my own money on the line.
Most of those attempts failed. But each one sharpened a playbook I now run for clients, and it left me with a combination that's genuinely uncommon: I can diagnose a growth problem like a marketer and then fix it like an engineer, in the same week, without handing it to anyone.

- Maintain and develop Allocator, a core Azure service.
- Led the migration of monitoring dashboards from Jarvis to Grafana, improving visibility and alerting across the team.
- Built an automated polling system that detects Kafka outages and triggers downstream remediation for dependent workers.
- Lead security efforts for the team: bi-weekly security syncs with Azure Core leadership, plus cross-team triage meetings to assign and track security items.
- Own project management for the team's security initiatives, maintaining dashboards that track current posture and outstanding items.

- Engineered an off-chain process monitoring smart contract events, triggering DynamoDB updates whenever validators hit predefined milestones.
- Implemented a real-time pipeline collecting and transforming Solana blockchain metrics with Vector.dev, using VRL for parsing, InfluxDB for storage, and Grafana for visualization.
- Created a mobile app that automates transactions.

Instrument before optimizing
An opinion about a funnel is worth nothing next to a clean event stream. The data layer gets fixed first, every time.
Ship systems, not slides
A recommendation you can't implement isn't a deliverable. I hand over working software and infrastructure that runs after I'm gone.
